22 June, 2013 – Harrison Scott upset Dan Cammish’s hitherto perfect score sheet beating the championship leader to pole position for the 13th round of the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain by a narrow margin at the demanding. It’s the first time this season that Cammish has been denied pole position.

Seventeen-year-old Scott’s best lap was 0.08s faster than Cammish could achieve, and the Falcon Motorsport Mygale driver was delighted: “My pole lap was something special… I don’t know how I pulled it out, really. I was a second quicker than I went in testing yesterday. My other laps were quite quick also.”

Harrison was fortunate in that red flags brought the session to a halt moments after he crossed the line, following a spin by Jayde Kruger. When qualifying restarted all 13 drivers found it hard to match their earlier pace.

Cammish was far from disheartened, however – he will start Croft’s second and third races, the grids for which are based on a driver’s second and third-fastest qualifying times, from his accustomed pole slot. “We didn’t have the ultimate pace today,” said 24-year-old Leeds-based Dan. “But I’m happy – I was repeating my times for lap after lap, and Scott has put in only one really quick one. We’ll see what happens in the race.”

Scott will start race two from second on the grid alongside Cammish, and Sunday’s final event from third, behind Cammish and Jamun’s Argentinian driver Nico Maranzana.
